Beautifully Restored Mitsubishi Pajero SFX Is A Treat For SUV Fans [Video]

Mitsubishi Pajero was first launched in India in 2002. This particular SUV has a cult following even larger than that of Toyota Fortuner. Since its launch, the car is popular for its offroading capabilities and raw nature free from any electronics. Today, we are going to cover the restoration job of this legendary car which is done by the team at Autorounders.

The project is highlighted via a YouTube video uploaded on their official channel called Autorounders. The video starts with the introduction of the project. The host states that this car has come all the way from Gujarat to their workshop in Navi Mumbai.
He adds that even he is a fan of the Pajero since childhood. He shares a wholesome moment where a person in their society also owned a Pajero and he would admire this car every day.
First, let's talk about the before condition of the SUV. The SUV is finished in its most popular colour combination of red and white. This version of Pajero was launched globally in 1993 but it came to India in 2002. Till date, the car looks great and classic car lovers would still appreciate the aesthetics.
The condition of the car was not very bad but it had signs of aging such as multiple small dents, scratches and yellowing of lights. As Pajero was a highly reliable SUV, the engine of this particular car needed no mechanical work.

The host states that the entire exterior and the interior were restored in this car. Nothing additional has been added and the look has been kept OEM To do the body work of the car, all the parts were removed and the original paint was stripped down from multiple places.
The host states that in all of their workshops they use dent puller machines to remove dents. Usually, dents are filled with putty which is not the right way to remove dents. After this process, the entire car was repainted in the same color combination of red and white.
He adds that the interior work of Pajero is not that easy. Removing the trim pieces is a very complicated task in this car. Additionally, this car comes with very different headrests and leather wrapping them with proper finishing takes a lot of time, effort and skills.
Now, let's talk about the finished product. It won't be an overstatement if we say the car looks brand new. The interiors are restored and finished in a theme of cream and light tan. This interior theme is further complimented by the matte wooden inserts which add a premium touch.
Sourcing parts of such an old car is a major challenge but the team at Autorounders handled it pretty well. The SUV is restored to its former glory and it will definitely remind the owner of the day when he took the delivery of the brand-new car. The Mitsubishi Pajero SFX – an iconic car – came with a 2.8 liter-4 cylinder turbo diesel engine with 118 Bhp-292 Nm. A 5 speed manual gearbox and a four wheel drive transfer case with 4 low and 4 high modes were standard.
