New Delhi : Arvind Kejriwal has approached the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court in the liquor scam. On Tuesday, the Delhi Chief Minister’s plea against the arrest and subsequent ED remand was rejected.
Kejriwal had hatched a conspiracy – HC
Delhi High Court, while rejecting the petition, said that the material collected by this ED shows that Arvind Kejriwal had hatched a conspiracy. Apart from this, on Kejriwal’s claim that Raghav Magunta and his father gave money to BJP, the court said that it is not the job of this court to see who gives tickets to whom to contest elections or who gives electoral bonds to whom.
SC-expect relief from you
After the High Court rejected Arvind Kejriwal’s petition, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said that he hopes that the Supreme Court will give relief to Kejriwal just like it had recently given bail to AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh. Bhardwaj said that we respect the High Court but respectfully say that we do not agree with its orders.
Chief Minister Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar Jail
It is noteworthy that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in the money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam. The Enforcement Directorate had arrested Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal for ignoring several summons. Chief Minister Kejriwal is currently in Delhi’s Tihar Jail under judicial custody till April 15.
