Arms and ammunition recovered in Manipur, security forces take action

A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered in a joint operation by the army and police at Chanung Top in Manipur's Imphal East district. We inform you that the Indian Army and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on July 17 from Kangbokbi and Imphal East districts. Patrols and explosive detection dogs were also involved in the 72-hour operation. A large number of arms and explosives have been recovered during a joint operation by the army and police. These included 13 long-range mortars, four Burmese iron wire improvised explosive devices, one grenade launcher, one G3 rifle, six 303 guns, 22 pistols, one hand grenade. Apart from this, locally made explosives, 115 rounds of various weapons, three magazines and two radio sets were also recovered. The recovered bullets and weapons have since been handed over to the Manippai police for further investigation.
