Apple is planning to provide housing to its Indian employees, to build 78,000 houses

After providing about 1.5 lakh jobs in the last two and a half years, American company Apple is now going to give another special gift to its employees in India. The company is considering giving houses to its employees in India. Actually, Apple follows the same housing model in China and Vietnam also. That means the company provides houses to its employees even in China and Vietnam.

Tamil Nadu will get maximum 58000 houses
The Economic Times, quoting government officials, has written that Apple’s contract manufacturers and supplier companies like Foxconn, Tata, Salcomp are planning to provide houses to their employees. All these houses are being built on public private partnership model. This is the biggest initiative of its kind in the private sector. The target of this initiative is to manufacture 78,000 units. Of these, Tamil Nadu will get the maximum of 58000 houses. Tamil Nadu State Industries Promotion Corporation (SIPCOT) will construct most of the houses. Tata Group and SPR India are also involved in building houses.

Central government can provide 10-15 percent funds
The central government can provide 10-15 percent funds in this scheme, while the remaining money will be invested by state governments and companies. Officials estimate that by the financial year ending March 31, 2025, the construction of these houses will be completed and they will be handed over to the private sector.

What is the objective of the scheme
An official said the purpose of building employee accommodation on a large scale is to increase employee efficiency and provide security, especially to women, most of whom are in the age group of 19-24 years.
