Anti-superstition law becomes election issue
In the current elections all the political parties are using different strategies to gain power by giving concessions to different sections, false promises of cash and freebie schemes, slogans and slogans. Most of the people, whether educated or uneducated, from generation to generation Due to their conservative thinking under religious beliefs, they are badly trapped in the trap of various superstitions, orthodox rituals, camps and hypocritical babas.
Taking advantage of this superstitious mentality, hypocritical sages, tantrics, sages, astrologers and so-called saints who establish outposts and open shops at various places, such people face all kinds of problems, sorrows, diseases, desires and thunderbolts. Claiming to be cured by so-called divine power. They consider them to be ghosts, evil spirits, witchcraft, amulets, planetary cycles, horoscope, birth chart, vashikaran, cause-and-effect, Vaastu Shastra, Jantar-Mantra, protective shield, black knowledge, heaven-hell, destiny etc. . – They are exploiting them financially, physically and mentally by trapping them in the superstitions of their previous life. In the last few years, many heretical sadhus, tantriks and sadhus in Punjab have committed murder, rape of women, torture with hot tongs and atrocities on innocent children under the guise of exorcising so-called evil spirits, alien objects or ghosts. There have been heartbreaking criminal incidents of sacrificing a person suffering from mental illness. In the year 2017, a family had sacrificed two innocent children at the behest of a Tantrik in Kot Fatta village of Bathinda district, in this regard, in the decision given on March 23, 2023, the court sentenced the accused Tantrik along with six members of the family to life imprisonment. In the first week of October last year, a miscreant brutally murdered and sacrificed a four-year-old innocent boy, Ravi Raj, in the name of worshiping some deity on the request of a Tantrik in Alaud village near Khanna.
In one such heart-wrenching incident, on July 11 last year, a 9-year-old innocent girl, Sukhmandeep Kaur, was brutally murdered in the name of sacrifice at the request of a Tantrik by her relatives in Mudhal village of Amritsar district in order to expand their business. Was. ,
A few years ago, the Sarpanch of village Bhinder Kalan (Moga), who was also doing illegal business of asking questions by setting up a post on a special day, was beaten with tongs by one of his relatives on the pretext of exorcising ghosts. The innocent girl was beaten to death. These are not ordinary murders but brutal murders carried out as part of a well-planned conspiracy by inculcating innocent children with a dangerous superstitious mentality.
It is very unfortunate that the government of any political party has not fulfilled its constitutional responsibility to enact any anti-superstition law to stop such barbaric murders. Such incidents are a big stain on the face of Indian society and humanity which calls itself civilized. The educational structure of our country also misleads people towards making them superstitious, spiritualist and fatalistic instead of inculcating scientific consciousness and spirit of struggle.
People also need to seriously consider the fact that if these fake tantriks, sadhus, astrologers and swamis have any divine power to solve all kinds of problems of people, fulfill their desires and cure diseases successfully. If he has the power then why don’t he first accept the challenge of winning the prizes worth crores of rupees offered by various logical organizations of India to show his divine power?
Why do they make a business of luring innocent people and robbing them? Why do such sages and saints serving their sentence in jails not show the miracle of coming out of jails with their so-called divine powers? Punjab Government and Police are well aware of the fact that such fake babas, tantrics, astrologers open illegal shops, carry out criminal activities and sell drugs and magical remedies under the Objectionable Advertisements Act 1954, Cable Television Regulation Act 1994 and especially False and Illegal Advertisements. We do. Serious violation of the Medical Registration Act. Yet no legal action is taken against these hypocritical people and the associated media.
It is extremely unfortunate that our governments have also kept their people in the darkness of superstition by trapping them in the web of hypocrisy, Deraism and Babaism, instead of inculcating scientific thinking among the people under Article 51-A (H) of the Indian Constitution. And throwing communal hatred into the swamp. It is obvious that behind the flourishing of this multi-crore business, there is a collusion between the government machinery, top police officers and corrupt and communal politicians.
The rational society of Punjab has so far exposed the so-called divine power and black knowledge of thousands of hypocritical saints, tantrikas, sages and astrologers in the court of public and stopped their illegal business, but there is a lack of anti-superstition law in Punjab. The criminals escape legal punishment and then start their business elsewhere. It is noteworthy that this law has been in force in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka for many years.
Regarding this, the previous Akali-BJP and Congress government was also given the draft of ‘Punjab Black Magic and Superstition Prevention Act’ by Rational Society Punjab and in this regard, the then Phagwara MLA Som Prakash was given a letter dated 22-3. – A recommendation regarding the implementation of this law was made in the Punjab Assembly under unofficial resolutions under Ballot No. 192 in 2018 and Ballot No. 228 on 14-2-2019.
Sadly, no government or political party showed good intentions in making this law. In February 2023, a demand letter was given to all the ministers, MLAs and MLCs of the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab along with the draft of the Punjab Anti-Black Magic and Superstition Law.
Now again the budget was given before the February session, but the present Punjab government of Aam Aadmi Party, like the previous governments, is deliberately avoiding making this public friendly law. Anti-Superstition Law should be implemented in Punjab on the illegal activities of hypocritical Sadhus, Tantriks, Astrologers who exploit innocent people financially, mentally and physically by luring them into superstitions and superstitions. There should be no delay in imposing strict ban on any kind of anti-superstition law. In this regard, there is a need for people-friendly and progressive democratic and rational organizations to create awareness among all sections of the people of Punjab and create a broad mass movement and conduct a decisive mass struggle.
