Cannes 2024: The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival was an eventful one for India. A place where many Indian actresses set the red carpet on fire with their glamorous looks. The best actress award went to Kolkata-based Anasuya Sengupta, who won the Uncertain Record Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'The Shameless'. Directed and written by Bulgarian filmmaker Konstantin Bojanov, Anasuya plays 'Renuka' who escapes from a Delhi brothel after a police officer is killed. In an interview to PTI, Anasuya recalled her reaction when she was told that her film had been shortlisted under Cannes' Un Certain Regard category.
