An Indian woman in Pakistan refused to leave the country without her children, saying that both her sons are in danger to their lives in Pakistan.
Islamabad: Farzana Begum, an Indian citizen living in Mumbai, is struggling these days for the safety of her children in Pakistan. He has refused to return to his country saying that his children’s lives are in danger. Farzana Begum, a resident of Mumbai, married Pakistani national Mirza Mubeen Ilahi in Abu Dhabi in 2015. The couple later came to Pakistan in 2018. He has two sons aged seven and six.
Farzana Begum’s case came into limelight when she was accused of misbehaving with her husband in a dispute over the custody of their sons and some properties in her name. Farzana also refuted her husband’s claim that he has divorced her. Farzana said that her and her children’s lives are in danger due to property disputes in Pakistan. They are confined to their home in Lahore’s Rehman Garden and their children are suffering from hunger. Farzana has refused to go to her country without her sons and has demanded the Pakistan government to provide security till the matter is resolved. He said that some properties in Lahore are in the name of his sons. The passports of him and his sons are in my husband’s possession. Farzana is the second wife of Mirza Mubeen Ilahi. Ilahi already has a Pakistani wife and children. Farzana alleges that they are conspiring to threaten her to return to India and take over the properties. Farzana’s lawyer Mohsin Abbas said that Mubeen Ilahi is spreading rumors that Farzana’s visa has expired even though she still has her passport.
