Ambedkar is not only at the center of the constitution but also at the center of politics, understand why politics happens in Shah's statement.

After Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Baba Saheb Ambedkar in Parliament, the Congress has made many accusations against Shah. A number of political implications are also drawn from this statement, as both political parties are believed to want to create a split in the Dalit vote bank by portraying themselves as more Ambedkar supporters. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, universally known as Baba Saheb, has become the centerpiece not only of Indian Constitution but also of politics. Dalit and exploited community consider Dr. Ambedkar as their messiah. This is the reason why the political party and ideology that Ambedkar stood against during his lifetime are leaving no stone unturned to adopt him today. On the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, there was a four-day long debate on the Constitution in Parliament, with Ambedkar at the centre. Tricks were played to continue politics with the help of Ambedkar by taking oath on the Constitution. Meanwhile, a political war has erupted over Home Minister Amit Shah's statement on Dr Ambedkar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while speaking on Dr Ambedkar's legacy, said, 'Taking Ambedkar's name has become a fashion these days. If you take God's name Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar so much, seven births will go to heaven. And Amit Shah said, 'We are happy that Ambedkar's name is there. Take Ambedkar's name 100 times more, but at the same time, let me tell you what your feeling is about Ambedkar. Why did Ambedkar resign from the country's first cabinet? Ambedkar ji has repeatedly expressed his displeasure with the treatment meted out to Scheduled Castes and Tribes. I don't agree with the government's foreign policy, I don't agree with Article 370, so I want to leave the cabinet. He was assured. As the pledge was not fulfilled, he resigned out of ignorance. This is part of Amit Shah's statement: Taking Ambedkar's name has become a fashion. If you take God's name Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar so much, seven births will go to heaven. Many opposition parties, including the Congress, have protested against this and are insisting that he should apologise. Leaders of opposition parties, including the Congress, also protested in Parliament, and Mallikarjuna Kharge raised the demand of Prime Minister Modi to remove Amit Shah from his cabinet. Dal won't accept my resignation – Shah Amit Shah explained his comment on Ambedkar in Rajya Sabha at a press conference on Wednesday. He said debates in Parliament should be based on facts and reality. BJP members did the same. When the Congress party proved to be anti-Ambedkar, anti-reservation and anti-constitutional, the Congress continued its old strategy of distorting statements. Karke asks for my resignation, he is happy, maybe I will give it, but it is not going to help him. Now he has to sit where he has been for 15 years and my resignation is not going to make him lose patience. After the protest, Prime Minister Modi started a debate on the Constitution, which went so far as to insult Ambedkar. The Congress tweeted about Amit Shah's statement and wrote that there is a lot of hatred for Baba Saheb Ambedkar in the minds of BJP and RSS leaders. Rahul Gandhi has posted on social media that people who believe in Manusmriti will definitely face problems due to Ambedkar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took it upon himself to counter the opposition's efforts to make defamation of Ambedkar an issue, sending the Congress into a frenzy by posting 6 posts one after the other on social media. Congress' long list of sins – Prime Minister Modi said Congress has started playing drama when he exposed Congress' dark history of insulting Home Minister Amit Shah Ambedkar and ignoring SC-STs in Parliament. The Prime Minister said the Congress had a long list of sins against Dr Ambedkar, which included his two election losses. Keeping an eye on vote bank in Ambedkar's name? In this politics of insulting and honoring Ambedkar, BJP has always insulted Dr. Ambedkar during his life and even after his death. At the same time, the Congress is trying to show that the BJP has no respect for Ambedkar and the Constitution. With this, both are eyeing a large vote bank in the name of Ambedkar who sees Baba Saheb as a political and social messiah. Dr. Ambedkar showed a new direction not only to the Dalit community of the country but also to the exploited and oppressed people and gave them respect through the constitution. This is why there is a strategy to target the vote bank of Dalits and backward classes under the pretext of honoring Ambedkar. As the Dalit community is a major force in the country's politics, political protests have erupted from Parliament to the streets. More than 20.14 crore Dalits in the country: According to the 2011 census, the population of Dalits in the country is about 16.63 percent, which is 20.14 crore Dalits of the total population. There are Scheduled Castes in 31 States and Union Territories of the country, which are divided into 1241 ethnic groups. 76.4 percent of Dalits in the country live in rural areas and 23.6 percent of Dalits live in urban areas. There are a total of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies in the country. Although 84 of these seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, their political influence is more than 150 seats. Looking at the polling pattern of Dalit-dominated Lok Sabha constituencies, the BJP got 31 percent Dalit votes in 2024, according to CSTS data. Whereas in 2019, this figure was 34 percent. The BJP got 3 per cent less votes and its allies got 2 per cent votes. This time 19 percent of the Dalit community voted for the Congress. Allies of the Congress benefited greatly from the Dalit vote, especially the Samajwadi Party. Due to this BJP's seats have decreased. Looking at the results of the 156 Dalit-dominated seats, the opposition alliance won 93 seats and the NDA 57 seats. Of the 156 seats with Dalit votes, this time compared to 2019, the opposition won 53 seats and the NDA lost 34 seats. Earlier in 2014 and 2019, the BJP had secured the absolute votes of Dalits, due to which PM Modi succeeded in forming the government with an absolute majority. Why is Congress insulting Baba Saheb? In 2024, the Congress-led All India Alliance succeeded in setting up the narrative of the Constitution and reservations, due to which the Dalit community was alienated from the BJP. In the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi asked for votes with a copy of the Constitution, and later in the Parliament, many opposition MPs took the oath with the Constitution in their hands. This is why the Congress wants to gain the trust of the Dalit community by calling Amit Shah's remarks in the Rajya Sabha an insult to Baba Saheb. Raising the issue of insulting Ambedkar, the Congress is trying to gain a foothold among the Dalit vote and is taking an aggressive stand for it. This is because BJP is trying to kill Congress against Ambedkar and Dalits. With this, the BJP and Congress have their eyes on the Dalit vote bank. That is why the Congress has fielded its biggest Dalit face, Mallikarjun Kharge, and presented Amit Shah's statement. Punjab has the largest Dalit population among the country's 74 districts. Dalit voters play a very important role in the state elections of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Seeing the political strength of Dalits, the political parties of the country are trying to bring them to their side. Punjab is the state with the largest number of Dalits. It has 31.9 percent Dalit population, while Uttar Pradesh has about 20.7 percent Dalit population. Dalit voters thereby have the power to make or break the power game, for which Ambedkar is no less than a god.
