Violence broke out again in Sandeshkali after 24 hours of polling. There were sporadic disturbances in various parts of Sandeshkali. Nine people have already been arrested for assault, robbery and rioting. Then the women of that village tried to snatch the accused from the hands of the police. The people of the area protested by lying down in front of the police vehicle. The police then started entering the village. The women jumped into the pond when they saw the Central Army soldiers. Governor seeks Mamata's intervention Meanwhile, Governor CV Anand Bose said he was concerned after receiving reports of post-election violence in Sandeshkali and asked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to immediately intervene and restore peace there. The governor said that he has written to Mamata Banerjee to inform her about the action taken against those involved in the violence in Sandeshkali in North 24 Parganas district. If such attacks continue and the residents are harassed, I will open the Raj Bhavan doors for them to come and live here. They will be provided safe accommodation here. On the other hand, women clashed with Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel and blocked roads in Sandeshkali's Akarkadi village when police went there in search of some people who allegedly felled tree branches, a senior police officer said.
