ACP Jag: Lathehar, Chandraprakash Singh: The Anti-Corruption Cell (ACB) team of Balamu in Lathehar district took a major action on Tuesday. ACP team arrested ASI (Police Sub-Inspector) Thirendra Kumar Singh (55 years) posted at Bariadu Police Station in Latehar district while accepting a bribe of Rs.20,000. ACP officials are interrogating the arrested police sub-inspector. In a press release issued by the ACP Divisional Office Balamu, it has been said that a case has been registered for possession of opium at Bariyadu Police Station in Latehar. In this case, Santhosh Rana, son-in-law of prosecutor Jaikumar Rana, has been arrested and lodged in jail. A few days later, police sub-inspector Thirendra Kumar demanded Rs 3 lakh, threatening to implicate him in the same case. The petitioner refused to pay the money, but the Bariadu police station officer pressed him for the same amount. An ACP investigation found the matter to be true and eventually reported the matter to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Palamu. The matter was verified by ACP Deputy Superintendent of Police. The investigation revealed this to be true. In this case, Anti-Bribery Bureau Palamu Police Station Case No. 06/2024 was registered on 22 July 2024. Police Sub-Inspector Thirendra Kumar was caught red-handed by ACP's Balamu raid team while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 in the presence of a magistrate and two independent witnesses. ASI Thirendra Kumar is a resident of Ahinaura village in Harinathpur, Kaimur district of Bihar.
