ACB takes action against Chhatra scam, arrests JE and broker who took 20,000 bribe

The arrested trafficker is Devendra Munda, a resident of Simradari of Duari village. Apart from opium, a mobile phone was seized from him. He said that Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar Pandey got a tip-off that someone was keeping opium at his house in Simrathari and was going out to sell it. Meanwhile, opium was recovered in two plastic bags hanging from a hook in the kitchen room of the smuggler's house. The arrested kidnapper gave the police the names of several other kidnappers. He also planned to take this opium to other cities and sell it. Devendran also has a criminal history. A case under NDPS Act has also been registered against him at Ramgarh police station. The SDPO said that he was associated with this business since before 2018. A case under NDPS Act was registered under Badalkhata Police Station Case No. 17/24 and he was sent to jail. A raid is on to nab other smugglers. The recovered opium is valued at Rs 11 lakh by STPO. Apart from the STPO, the inspection team consisted of Patalkada police station in-charge Alok Ranjan Chowdhury, SI Arvind Kumar Ravidas and several district personnel.
