Abhishek Banerjee said Trinamool Congress will support BJP's bill to punish rapists in the brutal case against the woman doctor.
KOLKATA: Abhishek Banerjee has made a big statement on the brutal attack on a woman doctor in Bengal and strongly condemned the actions of BJP leaders. He said that without politicizing the issue, opposition parties should bring such bills so that rapists and murderers can be punished within a week. If he brings such a bill, the Trinamool Congress itself will support it. At the same time, he said, the bill could get the support of Congress and Left parties. After an executive meeting at Amdala in West Bengal's Diamond Harbor constituency, the Union government has brought the speedy justice bill. The National General Secretary of the Trinamool Party addressed the media on Saturday. At that time, he criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for taking to the streets and protesting in the case of the rape and murder of a lady doctor. He said that the BJP leaders should not protest and put pressure on the central government to pass the speedy justice bill. Trinamool Congress will support this bill. He may also get the support of Congress and Left parties for this bill. Abhishek Banerjee said that rapists do not deserve to live in society and will prevent the trial from proceeding. This will save taxpayers money. It also sends a message that rapists and murderers have no place in society. “Sexists don't deserve to live in society, they should be killed in an encounter or hanged,” said Abhishek Banerjee and the incidents in West Bengal have sparked calls for reforms in the justice system to prevent crimes against women. He said that such crimes should be investigated immediately and fairly. The BJP is more focused on extending the tenure of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) director through an ordinance than ensuring speedy justice in rape cases. Abhishek Banerjee praises Bengal Police This TMC leader praised the Bengal Police for arresting the suspect within 24 hours of the incident.
