A new twist in the Gautam Adani bribery case, a statement from the group's CEO is out
Gautam Adani: The US prosecutors' bribery complaint against Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani and his son-in-law Sagar Adani has taken a new twist. Adani Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jukeshinder Singh on Friday said: Talk of bribing government officials to get contracts is completely false. He said that if any large amount is paid, he will definitely know about it. Speaking to the media at an event at financial services platform Trust Group, Jukeshinder Singh said the US allegations were not an attack on the group, “We are 100 per cent aware that there is no such case. This is because if you are paying someone such a huge amount, I know for sure,'' he said in a 'distinctive exercise of judicial power'. He added that this was not an attack on the group. Adani Group's CFO said that the persons named in the allegations will respond to the allegations at an appropriate forum. After these allegations in the US, no bank approached the group for a review. Everyone is willing to give what the team needs to build the infrastructure. He said, “Basically our bank partners understand that we don't need their money. We don't need it. So we get it.” Also Read: Man Eats 'Banana' Bought for Rs 52 Crore, Says How He Tasted Adani Group Has Ability to Repay Loans, Says Jukeshinder Singh 30 months is sufficient for Adani Group to repay its debt obligations.
