A large number of cases of diarrhea have been reported in the last few days in Parwanoo area, the gateway to the district. The possibility of spread of water-borne diseases increases during the summer season. In such a situation, special attention should be paid to drinking water cleanliness. A joint team should be formed to quickly find out the causes of drinking water pollution.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said this while presiding over a meeting organized with the district administration and health department and other related departments at Paridhi Griha in Parwanoo in Solan district on Monday. In the meeting, the measures taken for prevention and control of diarrhea cases reported in Parwanoo area were reviewed.
Shiv Pratap Shukla also obtained information about the treatment of patients suffering from diarrhea. Expressing satisfaction over the steps taken for the treatment of patients and prevention of diarrhea, he said that maximum publicity should be ensured among the people about the precautions taken to prevent water-borne diseases.
He also called upon the people to regularly clean the drinking water storage tanks and add certain amount of chlorine etc. in it and use the water only after boiling it.
