PSL Final 2024: Ball-by-ball Commentary Of Final Over As Hunain Shah Hits Winning Run

The match went down to the wire as eight runs were needed off the last over with Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim on the crease. Mohammad Ali was tasked with bowling the last over and we relive how the last over transpired with the scores reading 152/7 in 19 overs.

19.1 – Imad Wasim faced Md Ali, after handling a blockhole ball in the middle, he moved the bat a little wide and headed for a double, while Naseem refused to take it, and Wasim got super angry with him. (7 runs needed off 5 balls)

19.2 – Naseem Shah cracks a boundary. The shot was not expected from the tailender as Ali went for the yorker length/, Shah swept the ball close to his feet with full power as the fielder had no chance to block the ball at deep mid-wicket. The ball was extremely good but Shah read the bowler’s mind well. (3 runs needed off 4 balls)

19.3 – Mohammad Ali pitched the ball to the pad side, as a result, it was just a run off a leg bye. Naseem Shah was beaten by the pace but an appeal for lbw was of no use as the ball was going outside the leg stump. (2 runs needed off 3 balls)

19.4 – Ali pitched the ball to Wasim, who could only rotate the strike with a run. Ali tried his best not to concede the run as he went for a direct hit at the non-striker’s end but missed the target. (1 run needed off 2 balls)

19.5 – OUT! Mohammad Ali took Naseem Shah’s wicket with a caught-behind dismissal. Rizwan did a great job behind the wicket with prompt reflexes for the catch. Naseem wanted to pull a bouncer by Ali but the timing with pace was not matched and Shah knicked it. (1 run needed off 1 ball)

19.6 – All the outfielders were brought close to the circle to block the single. Fielders such as short third, short mid-on short mid-off, short cover, backward point, and bringing the keeper closure to the wicket, as if making a fence against the newly arrived batter Hunain Shah. Ali pitched the ball to the No. 10 and he opened the face of the bat towards the point and gully. The ball fortunately pierced the circle and reached the boundary rope. The match was ruthlessly breathtaking for the players as well as the audience.
