Addressing the possibility of conflict with China, General Dwivedi said that the Indian Army is making significant progress in drone technology and other military capabilities. He revealed that India now has drones capable of firing AK-47 and launching missiles. If China tries to attack a drone, the Indian Army is fully prepared to respond with equally power. He further said that war is never in the interest of any country, but India is fully prepared for retaliation if needed.
Current status on India-China border
In 2020, tensions between India and China increased in the eastern Ladakh regions of Depsang and Demchok. Asked about the current situation, General Dwivedi confirmed that the situation had become normal. The armies of the two countries discuss the region to ensure stability in the region whenever necessary to resolve issues.
Tight warning to Pakistan
Regarding Pakistan, General Dwivedi criticized the neighboring country for its inaction in dealing with terrorism. He said that due to this negligence, the Indian Army is alert all the time. He also highlighted significant changes in Kashmir, where terrorism -affected areas have now become a rich tourist destination.
The army chief emphasized that the Indian Army has successfully conducted several operations against terrorism, which has brought peace in the region. Due to this change, he described it as “a change from terrorism to tourism”. Continuous efforts of the Indian Army have helped maintain stability in the valley.
