Deogarh News: A 132/33 KVA power plant under construction at a cost of Rs 38 crore at Sarath in Deogarh district caught fire on Wednesday following a sudden explosion. A GIS machine (Gas Insulated Substation) worth around Rs 9 crore kept at the place was gutted in the fire. The fire was caused by a short circuit in a 33000 KVA high tension wire. The fire began to rise rapidly. Officials said that the accident occurred due to a short circuit in the 33,000 KVA high voltage wire going to the place. A bird may have caused a short circuit in a high tension wire. The fire in the dry bush reached the GIS machine, caused a short circuit and the spark fell to the ground. The company has to complete the works before 2 years. The contractor could not complete the work on time. The department has asked that the work be completed by December 16, 2024. However, the sensor stopped working about 4 months ago. Censor went to court protesting the suspension, and the delay in the construction of the power substation led to a conflict between the department and Censor. The department had already stopped censoring 4 months ago. At the same time, Censor also took shelter in court against the suspension. The matter is still pending in court.
