'Saksham' is an important project for self-reliance of the downtrodden: Nirmala Sitharaman

Employment: Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman launched the ambitious project 'Saksham: Empowerment through Livelihood' of Center for Heritage and Organizations (CSTS) at Raj Maidan in Darbhanga. The objective of the scheme is to provide new employment opportunities to the differently abled, women and youth in rural areas. CSTS has developed a battery-powered flour mill to provide employment opportunities by preventing migration of talent from the state. CSTS has developed a program called 'Saksham' to take employment oriented initiative to people in remote villages. Major step for self-reliance of the downtrodden: Speaking on the occasion, the Union Finance Minister said, “Saksham scheme will not only become a medium for employment generation but also a major step for upliftment of the downtrodden sections of the society. self confidence The government is determined to encourage such initiatives,” he said. The Finance Minister inaugurated these tricycle powered flour mills for 10 beneficiaries. This pilot project is made possible with the support of SIDBI's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The 'Saksham' scheme can become a powerful livelihood in rural areas. Appreciating the initiative, the Finance Minister said it was an important step towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of 'Self-reliant India'. Under the scheme, specially designed battery-powered flour mills will go door-to-door in villages to provide services. It is mounted on a tricycle. Savita Jha, founder of Saksham CSDS, which provides door-to-door services, said, “Our organization's aim is to provide employment to the differently-abled, women and youth in remote villages and rural areas through the Saksham programme. Empowerment through Livelihoods' to create wider opportunities. Under this project we have developed a battery operated flour mill system based on a specially designed design. This flour mill is installed on a tricycle. The organization will provide door-to-door services in villages. These mills produce flour, protein-rich milk and fresh spices. Also, interested persons can register to operate these mobile units through this app. The app has been developed in association with Darbhanga based IT/ITES solutions company Mithila Stock. The initiative is likely to install more than 1000 mobile units, which will provide an income opportunity of Rs.5000-8000 per month to each service provider. CSTS provides financial assistance to the differently abled and women through CSR programmes. Along with this, assistance will be provided to the youth through banks and microfinance institutions.
