Bihar made history at the International Trade Fair, winning the Gold Medal for Best Exhibition

The International Trade Fair held at Pragati Maidan in capital Delhi concluded on Wednesday. In this, Bihar won the gold medal for the best exhibition. Nikhil Dhanraj Nipanikar, Nodal Officer of the Bihar Project, was awarded the medal at an appreciation function held on Wednesday evening. Industry Secretary Vandana Preyasi and Industry Director Alok Ranjan Ghosh were present on the occasion. Vandana Preyasi expressed her happiness on winning the medal. Last Sunday, Bihar Industries and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra inaugurated the Bihar Pavilion and cultural programme. This show was the center of attraction. Bihar was the partner state this year. Hence, the Bihar Pavilion was prepared according to the theme of the trade fair, Developed India 2047. Under the guidance of Industries Secretary Vandana Preyasi and Industries Director Alok Ranjan Ghosh, the State Government Industries Department with the help of Udyog Mitra Team gave shape to the program and exhibition. Exhibition of handicrafts at the Bihar Pavilion The Bihar Pavilion had a total of 75 stalls. In this, handloom, khadi and handloom products of the state were displayed. Baban Bhutti of Nalanda, Bhagalpuri silk, Madhubani paintings of Mithila, Diguli art of Patna and other artefacts were on sale and on display. The pavilion is designed around the theme of Bihar's special cultural and historical heritage. The entrance is designed as “Gateway to Civilization” and is emblazoned with the “Vikas Bihar-2047” logo. The Bihar Museum was at the center of the pavilion. Three-dimensional paintings of the modern Nalanda University and Buddha Bridge are displayed on its walls. Other walls were decorated with Madhubani, Manjusha and Tikhuli art done by renowned Padmasree artists of Bihar. Traditional art forms – Madhubani painting, terracotta art and Sikki handicrafts were showcased at the pandal. Through this interactive display, visitors got to experience the rich art of Bihar. Additionally, exhibits at the Bihar Pavilion will include highlights of the state's flagship initiatives such as the Mukhyamandri Udyami Yojana and Start-up Bihar on entrepreneurship and innovation. In addition, the focus on women empowerment through initiatives such as Mukhyamandri Mahila Udyami Yojana demonstrated Bihar's commitment to inclusive growth. The venue has been designed to be eco-friendly, following ITPO's plastic-free guidelines. Local materials were used in the decoration, reflecting the state's commitment to environmental responsibility.
