BJP's preparations for Jharkhand assembly elections are going on in full swing. AJSU president Sudesh Mahato held an hour-long meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday night as part of efforts to shape the NDA in Jharkhand. According to sources, the BJP is working on a seat-sharing formula in Jharkhand with its two constituency parties, AJSU (All Jharkhand Students' Union) and JDU. AJSU wants to contest 13 seats in Jharkhand assembly elections. BJP has decided to give 9 to 10 seats to AJSU. This was also discussed in the meeting between Amit Shah and Sudesh Mahato. In a meeting held on Sunday, the Home Minister spoke to AJSU President Sudesh Mahato about all the seats claimed by AJSU. The meeting between the AJSU president and Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to resume next week. The formula regarding seat sharing will be locked in the same meeting. Now it seems BJP has agreed to give these seats to AJSU. Ch. No. AJSU and BJP in one or two other places. Final approval on the seats offered to AJSU will be taken in the next meeting. The next meeting of BJP and AJSU is likely to be held in Delhi next week on September 27 or 28. On the other hand, the JD(U) which is part of the National Democratic Alliance claims to win 5 seats. But BJP is planning to give 1 seat. BJP may give Jamshedpur East constituency to JTU chief Sarayu Rai. However, the BJP wants to contest 69 to 70 of the 81 seats in the state. It plans to give only 11 to 12 seats to the alliance parties. According to sources, the CEC may hold a meeting on the list of BJP candidates within Dussehra. After this the first list can also be published.
