Uttarakhand Government Announces Sahitya Bhushan Award on Hindi Diwas
Hindi Diwas: In a significant move for literary recognition, Uttarakhand’s Language Minister Subodh Uniyal announced the Sahitya Bhushan Award on Not Diwas. The award, aimed at honoring accomplished litterateurs, will come with a cash prize of ₹5 lakh.
The announcement was made during a ceremony organized by Uttarakhand Raj Bhasha Sansthan at the IRDTA auditorium, where Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Subodh Uniyal inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.
Chief Minister Dhami emphasized the government’s efforts in promoting the Hindi language, noting that engineering and medical studies are now being conducted in Hindi within the state. He also released a book titled Uttarakhand Ki Lok Kathayen, published by Bhasha Sansthan, and honored students for their exceptional poetry writing skills.
This announcement and the event demonstrate Uttarakhand’s commitment to promoting language and literature, fostering a stronger connection to the state’s cultural roots.
