Bangladesh to tour USA for three T20Is ahead of World Cup
The team will use the series to prepare for the marquee tournament that lies ahead.
It is worth noting that Bangladesh have played in the USA in two T20Is in their history, which were against the West Indies. Furthermore, the USA will be playing against Canada in a five-match T20I series in April, with Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas, hosting the proceedings.
Ahead of the series, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, CEO of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), came forward to highlight the importance of the series against the USA and how it will help the national team adapt to the condition.
“For the Bangladesh Team, this tour serves as an ideal platform to acclimatise to the conditions ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, we recognise the significance of this preparatory phase and are committed to making the most of this invaluable experience,” Nizam Uddin Chowdhury was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Ahead of the series, the chairman of USA Cricket, Venu Pisike, came forward to opine how vital the series against Bangladesh will be for their side and that it will even help them fine-tune their strategies.

“Ahead of the important Men’s T20 World Cup, these games will be vital for our team to get their working combinations, build team cohesion, and fine-tune strategies,” Venu Pisike said.
It is worth noting that both Canada and the USA are part of Group A in the T20 World Cup, along with India, Ireland, and Pakistan. Furthermore, Bangladesh is part of Group D and will play against Nepal and the Netherlands in Kingstown, in the West Indies.
