Manoj Bajpai: Shool director E Niwas will once again direct Manoj Bajpai
Manoj Bajpai: Director E Niwas, who helmed the National Award-winning film Shool, is streaming a web series on Sony Livil Dhanav 2 these days. Talking to director E Niwas about his show and his upcoming projects, he is going to bring up his first film opposite Manoj Bajpayee in a never-before-directed project with Corey, the first season of Tantra, and what was the reason for teaming up for the second season? I got a call from Sameer Nair, whose show Aadura Sach had finished. Manav is also present in that show. He said we are going to make Tension 2. Being the show runner, Sudhir sir stays with you for a few days and after that you have to lead the show completely. I love this show because it's Fouda's adoption. Sudhir sir trained me like a younger brother on the sets. He was the one who introduced me to the tense world and its characters. Have you seen this series before? Yes, I saw it. Then I saw it as a spectator. I watched it again from the shooting of that series. Fauda is a tale of two countries. Here the story is based on Kashmir. Kashmir is the most complex land in India. I don't think the story can be told better than that this place has complex land, complex people, complex emotions and the characters are its biggest USP. What will your mark be this season? Technically, I have sharpened this series. New characters have also been added to the STS group. You won the National Award for your first film Shul, how do you remember that moment? When I produced Shul. I was only 22 years old then. I was an assistant at Ram Gopal Verma sir's place. I was the thirteenth assistant to work there. After that he gave me a break as a director, when I was not ready to direct. I said I want 2 more years, but Ram Gopal Verma sir had faith in me. I know you can, he said you should do it. I didn't even think about the national award. While making the validation film for myself, I had in my mind to shoot the film. I will edit it and show it to Ramu sir. It's been more than 20 years since Shul was released, but people still talk to me about the film, so that's a huge achievement for me. Despite winning the National Award in the very first film, your career hasn't reached the expected heights? After the release of Shul I decided to do some comedy and after that I did Kuch B Kareka for Love. After that I wanted to do something bigger than the life cinema that I grew up watching and after that I directed Dum. I don't want people to think that Srinivas means serious cinema. Yes, after that what happens if my tests don't do well at the box office? In the meantime I got married and had children, so I thought I should spend some time with them. I was constantly acting in commercials without sitting at home. After that I got the opportunity to show Your Own. Stress after that 2. Are you planning to do any other film with Manoj Bajpayee? Yes, our talk is ongoing. Audiences can ask for something soon. Missed the theatrical release? Yes, I have a horror comedy film to be announced soon. The post Manoj Bajpayee: Shool director E Niwas to direct Manoj Bajpayee again, says Prabhat Kabar.
