This is the second incident where a herd of elephants has killed a human in Gudu constituency in the last 4 months. Shaukeen had come to his in-laws house from Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. Shaukeen (45), son of Alamdeen, a resident of Gurgaon village under Isipur police station area of Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, had come to his in-laws house. 'The house was 3 days ago in the house of Mo Gambhir who lives in Kudu Block Maidan. On Saturday, he along with his wife Shabnam Khatoon and 3 sons Danish, Sahil and Saath, along with his daughter Ruksar, were to go to his village Gujran. A herd of elephants arrived at Jopithand from Gundon forest on Thursday night. Chaukeen along with the villagers left the house around 10 pm and went to see the elephants. Meanwhile, Banda Doli, Digo, Gundon and other villagers started driving away the elephants. The elephants suddenly came out of the field and came towards them. As soon as the elephants came in front of the young man the elephants came in front of them causing panic among the villagers. Meanwhile, while trying to escape, Chaukeen is confronted by the elephants. Enraged, Gajaraj grabbed Shaukeen and threw him on the ground and crushed him. Seeing the aggressive behavior of the elephants, the villagers lost heart. No one came forward to save him. After killing Chaukeen and returning to Gundo forest, the elephants went towards Gundo forest. Then the villagers came there. By then it was too late. When the news of Chaukeen's death came, the villagers came in large numbers. Police and forest officials also reached the spot. They seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
