CPM leader Sitaram Yechury has been shifted to ventilator at AIIMS hospital as his condition worsens.
CPM leader Sitaram Yechury, who was admitted to Delhi's AIIMS, suddenly took a turn for the worse on Thursday. He has been shifted to ventilator. He was admitted on August 19 for treatment of lung infection. A team of doctors is engaged in treating him. He recently underwent cataract surgery. Presently, Yechury's condition is critical in AIIMS hospital. Sitaram Yechury is a well-known face of Indian politics. He is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Sitaram Yechury belongs to a Tamil Brahmin family. While a Rajya Sabha MP, Yechury was awarded the Best Member of Parliament Award in 2016. Yechury joined the Students Federation of India (SFI) in 1974. After this, within a year he became a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). Making JNU a bastion of the Left Sitaram Yechury and his colleague Prakash Karat were instrumental in making JNU a bastion of the Left. Left leader Sitaram Yechury did his Masters in Economics from JNU. After this he joined Ph.D. But he was arrested during Emergency. As a result, he could not complete his Ph.D. Yechury, who was first elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2005, became a member of the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 2005 from West Bengal. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha till 18 August 2017. During this period, he raised many public issues in Parliament. Yechury is a politician and social worker, economist, journalist and writer. Their opinion is considered important in the preparation of political documents. He has been writing columns for many newspapers for a long time. Sitaram Yechury has also written many books. Among these, books such as What is Hindu Rashtra, The Politics of Hate, Socialism in the 21st Century are important. His elder son Ashish died during Corona. He is 35 years old.
