As the date of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir approaches, criticism has intensified among all political parties. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah said on Thursday that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not the slaves of the central government but they are the real owners of their land. Abdullah said this in an election campaign meeting at Beerwa in Budgam district. Farooq Abdullah told the media, 'Let me tell you one thing, we are not their slaves. Remember this place belongs to the people of this state. Former Chief Minister Abdullah made this comment when asked if the Center expected to grant statehood to Jammu and Kashmir after the assembly elections. Abdullah also said that the BJP supporters in Kashmir should feel refreshed soon. 'I will tell his monks to come to their senses. The storm will come and they will have to face it. People come and go at election time: Farooq Abdullah said about some leaders leaving the National Conference, Abdullah said it is a normal process at election time. He replied, 'People come and go, what can we do about it? This process continues even during elections. At the same time, he said that about the separatists contesting the elections, this question should be asked to those who raise slogans in favor of Pakistan. When asked about his continued demand for talks between India and Pakistan, Abdullah said that these talks can be conducted by the Indian Prime Minister with the Pakistani Prime Minister and not by Farooq Abdullah.
