Gangs of cyber thugs based in bordering countries are using college students to scam them through fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, account opening, mobile cloning and links. Due to this, sometimes for job opportunity, sometimes asking to increase the marks in the exam, they get scammed by calling it as part-time job. This can be learned from the fact that a gang of deadly cyber goons from various police station areas in the district have swindled more than Rs.6 crores in eight months. But the police have taken action in many cases and kept the amount in abeyance. Many criminals have also been arrested, but this gang is so active that when a criminal is caught, they immediately change their location and pattern of fraud. Keeping an eye on all social media platforms simultaneously: Once cyber fraud gang members are trained, they keep an eye on various social media platforms. They know that nowadays teenagers spend at least four to five hours of screen time on social media. In such a situation, they are tempted to work part-time and invest in the stock market. Once caught in the net, they are added to groups on WhatsApp and Telegram. The evil people associated with this group are already here. So the new entrant can be confident of getting good returns by investing the money. Gradually, when all the money is taken away by the bad scammers, they block them or stop responding after that. If an FIR is registered or action is taken, after setting up a cyber police station in the district, all numbers involved in the effort to curb cyber criminals are blocked. A total of 103 cyber fraud cases have been registered in the district in the financial year 2023-24. In the financial year 2024-25, 69 cases have been registered in Cyber ​​Police Station and more than hundred cases including other police stations. According to the police, Rs 3.41 crore was outstanding after the FIR in the last financial year. Cyber ​​Cell is continuously active in various social media cells.
