According to Hindu religious texts, worshipping Lord Vishnu ends all sins and leads to salvation. In such a situation, there is a fast of Aja Ekadashi at the end of this month. On this day, you can please Lord Vishnu by worshiping according to the rituals. By observing this fast, a person gets many types of virtues and happiness and prosperity comes in life. On this day, devotees observe fasts and rituals in honour of Lord Vishnu, seeking his blessings for prosperity and liberation from past sins. Importance of Aja Ekadashi
Aja Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the main deities of Hinduism. It is believed that fasting and worshiping on this day washes away all sins and devotees get salvation or liberation from the cycle of birth and death. Keeping the fast of Aja Ekadashi brings peace, prosperity and happiness in a person's life. The fast of Aja Ekadashi will start from the morning of 29 August and will continue till the morning of 30 August. During this fast, there are some rules on food which are mandatory to follow.
Method of Aja Ekadashi Puja
On the day of Aaja Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning and take bath and meditate.
After that the place of worship should be cleaned.
Then install the idol or picture of Lord Vishnu on a stand in the north-east corner.
After doing all this, take a vow of fasting and offer incense, lamp, flowers, Panchamrit, Tulsi, sandalwood etc. to Lord Vishnu.
Then offer fruits and sweets to God and complete the puja with Aarti.
Keep in mind that before Aarti, you must recite the Ekadashi Vrat Katha.
Breaking of Aja Ekadashi fast
There is also a rule of breaking the fast after Ekadashi. After sunrise on the next day of Ekadashi, the person fasting during Dwadashi Tithi breaks the fast. It is important to break the fast within Dwadashi Tithi, as long as it does not end before sunrise. The best time to break the fast is Pratahkal, early morning.
