PM Narendra Modi’s statement on Kolkata rape case: Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again discussed the Kolkata rape case and said that the accused should be given severe punishment. Prime Minister Modi raised the issue of women’s safety while addressing a public rally in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.
PM Modi said, ‘Today I will tell every political party and state government of the country once again that crime against women is an unforgivable sin. Whoever is guilty should not be spared. Those who help them in any way should not be spared.’ He said that whether it is a hospital, school, office or police system… everyone should be held accountable for negligence at any level. Our government is making laws stricter to give severe punishment to those who misbehave with women.
He further said, ‘Our government has opened every field for girls, where there were restrictions on them once. Today women officers and fighter pilots are being deployed in all three armies. Today a large number of daughters are running businesses in villages ranging from farming and dairy to the start-up revolution. He said that our government has decided that the houses built by the government for the poor should be registered in the name of women. Most of the 4 crore houses built so far are in the name of women. Now we are going to build 3 crore more houses, most of these houses will be in the name of our mothers and sisters.
