PM Modi Set to Make History, Will Become First Prime Minister to Visit Ukraine in Over 30 Years
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ukraine on August 23. This is a historic diplomatic step since it will be the first time an Indian prime minister has visited the war-torn country since the start of its conflict with Russia. This visit, which falls on the National Flag Day of Ukraine, is expected to deepen relations between India and Ukraine. On his tour, PM Modi will also make a noteworthy trip in Poland on August 21 and 22. The trip is especially significant because it is the first visit to Poland by an Indian prime minister in forty-five years.
Strengthening Diplomatic Relations with Ukraine
Being the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Ukraine since diplomatic relations were established more than thirty years ago, PM Modi’s visit would be momentous in the history of India-Ukraine relations. In the middle of the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, India has been promoting peaceful resolution through diplomacy. A number of significant agreements could be made during the talks between PM Modi and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine. India’s Commitment to Peaceful Dialogue
India has continuously advocated for communication and negotiation as a means of settling the issue in Ukraine while keeping a neutral position. The Ministry of External Affairs’ Secretary (West), Tanmaya Lal, emphasised India’s stance and the nation’s commitment to working with all parties to find a peaceful solution. This pledge is in line with PM Modi’s overall diplomatic plan, which calls for keeping solid ties with both the West and Russia.
Historic Visit to Poland
Prior to his trip to Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi will go on a historic visit to Poland, which would be his first as an Indian prime minister since 1979. The goal of this visit is to improve ties between Poland and India by concentrating on topics like technology, security, and defence. As both nations commemorate 70 years of diplomatic relations, it is anticipated that this visit would provide new chances for cooperation and partnership.
