Purnia News: Preparation, mobilization for movement against ministry's indifference on railway development has begun
Purnia News: The anger of the people of Purnia is now bubbling inside over the railway ministry's continued neglect of renovating railway facilities. The people of Purnia are now in a mood of agitation on the issue of railway development. A phased movement is planned for this. To implement this, a public mobilization campaign has started. Young people are coming forward for this, but efforts are being made to involve all organizations. The people are clearly saying that Railways should restore all necessary facilities at Purnia Junction and Court Station, otherwise a long protest will be launched. The fact that there are two separate railway stations in the city of Purnia is impossible without agitation. It includes Purnia Junction and Purnia Court. Passenger comfort is poor at both places. After knowing the fate of Purnia's Jalalgarh-Kishanganj rail project, people believe they cannot ask the railway ministry without protest. In fact, people still regret Bihar's non-participation in this ministry. Regrettably, despite repeated requests, the plan to run Kathihar-Patna Intercity five days a week and Kathihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express daily from Jogpani has been in cold storage for almost a year. The proposal has been sent by North East Frontier Railway. Purnia's neglect is such that trains have not been increased for 14 years on the Kadihar-Joghbani railway section. Demands for changing the timetable of Janaki Express, running Hatai Bazar Express via Purnia three days a week, extension of direct train to Patna, intercity express up to Purnia are still pending. Poornia's demands went unheeded in the ministry. The Ministry of Railways promised to definitely listen to Purnia's voice, but did not focus on her. This is the reason why the demand for daily operation of Jogbani-Kolkata Express and night trains from Patna Rajyarani and Jogbani has not been heard. The construction of washing pit and one coach-length chic line at Purnia Court and Jogpani is still pending after the Railway Board's approval. 2018-19, the case of pit washing is pending in the court station. Railway sources said long distance trains cannot be run without pit line. Here, citizens say there is a need to create pressure in this direction along with a movement at the political level. The people of Purnia express their regret that the attempt to construct a 40 km railway line between Purnia and Dalkola could not be made after independence. Residents say direct rail service between Purnia and Kishanganj via Talkola would have been easier if the tracks had been laid. Note that there have been calls for a direct train from Purnia to Kishanganj for a long time, but no attempt has been made so far. Enlightened citizens say that road is the only way from Purnia to Talkola and Kishanganj. Purnia City Railway Station formerly known as Purnia Junction Railway Station is located in Purnia City. It is a category A railway station of the Kathihar Railway Division of the North East Frontier Railway. Purnia Junction was started in 1887. The old name of this station was Purnia town. It is located on the Kadihar-Joghbani railway section of the North East Frontier Railway. This railway line was earlier meter gauge. Another standard gauge line of East Central Railway connects Purnia to Saharsa Junction via Panmangi. The conversion of 36 km long Purnia Panmangi Line in Purnia Saharsa division to broad gauge project was completed in 2016.
