Kolkata incident: SIT starts probe against Sandeep Ghosh, ex-principal of RG Car College, a serious allegation.
The SIT of the Kolkata Police has started an investigation into financial irregularities against Sandeep Ghosh, the former principal of RG Garh Hospital. It was in this same hospital that the doctor was brutally tortured and murdered on August 9. Questions are being raised against the president regarding this incident. The president resigned after this incident. A day earlier, on Monday, the Bengal government constituted a four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged financial irregularities at the hospital. The official said the police may summon Ghosh for questioning in connection with the investigation. A case has been registered against the former principal at Thala police station in Kolkata. The former chief minister has also been accused of revealing his identity for allegedly raping and murdering a doctor while on duty at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. He is accused of revealing the victim's identity. The official said Ghosh revealed the identity of the victim while speaking to the media soon after her body was recovered. In such a case, he will be questioned about this also. While the CBI is investigating the rape and murder of a doctor, the SIT of the Kolkata Police has started the investigation. The SIT will probe the alleged financial irregularities in the hospital from January 2021 till date. On the other hand, Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose said that the rape and murder of the doctor was a very shameful moment for the society. He said that there is a tense situation in West Bengal. People have lost faith in the current government. The Chief Minister's comments are mere rhetoric.
