High Court allows 5 days for BJP to protest in support of doctor in Kolkata

Kolkata doctor case: The Kolkata High Court on Tuesday allowed the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party to hold a five-day protest in the case of the rape and murder of a woman doctor. The court has allowed the BJP to hold a protest near the Shambazar metro station for 5 days from August 21 to protest against the incident. In fact, the rape and murder of a female doctor at the RG Garh Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata has sparked outrage across the country. Following this incident, doctors have been protesting for the death penalty for the criminals. BJP sought permission to hold protest for 6 days from August 21. BJP will hold protest in Kolkata from August 21. The BJP approached the Calcutta High Court seeking a demonstration in support of the doctors. The lawyer who appeared in the court on behalf of the West Bengal government said that permission should be given for the demonstration only for one day. He said that holding a protest for five days would cause disruption to the public. At the same time, the lawyer representing the BJP in the High Court sought permission to hold a protest for 6 days from Wednesday. After hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court bench of Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj allowed the BJP to hold a protest for 5 days. The court has allowed the BJP to hold a protest at the proposed location for five days. Permit to protest from 12 noon to 9 pm The venue of the BJP protest near the Shyambajhar Metro station is half a kilometer away from the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The court has ordered that the BJP can hold protests from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 noon to 9 pm every day. The court also said that there should not be more than 300 people in the protest.
