Weather Update: Yellow alert in Delhi-NCR; Check conditions in Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow

Weather Update: The IMD forecast for Monday states that rain will continue to fall across the nation, with the southern areas experiencing heavy rainfall. However, it is anticipated by the IMD that the eastern parts may experience moderate rainfall, and the northern and centre regions can experience light rainfall. The Delhi NCR has been issued a yellow alert for rain, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre. The weather for Delhi on August 12 is expected to be mostly cloudy with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms. Many states, including Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Kerala, are under an orange warning, according to the IMD.

These cities will also see rainfall

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted lightning and thunderstorms along with moderate rainfall in several areas of Bihar, including Patna, the capital city. IMD reports that the city and surrounding suburbs are still experiencing moderate to light rainfall, with no signs of abating throughout the day. However, Mumbai is anticipated to see a maximum temperature of 31°C and a minimum of about 26°C. These are season-appropriate temperatures that offer some respite from the ordinary summer heatwave.

Know weather conditions in Kolkata and Lucknow

The weather forecast for Kolkata indicates that there will be light rain, thunderstorms, lightning and humid air. Today, Kolkata is expected to have maximum and lowest temperatures of roughly 32°C and 27°C, respectively. Many areas of Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience heavy rainfall, while the state capital, Lucknow, is expected to have moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.

IMD forecasts that heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is very possible in several areas over Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya. In certain areas of Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Karnataka, there has been intense rainfall, according to the India Meteorological Department.
