In case of death of government employee, compensation will be given in the ratio of 80:20, this government has made a big change.
Last month, the plight of martyred Captain Anshuman Singh's parents went viral on social media where they were seen saying that after their son's martyrdom, their daughter-in-law had left them and gone to her mother's house. Along with this, he also took the Kirti Chakra which was given to his son posthumously. What are we left with now? After this, there was a demand that apart from the wife, the parents should also be given a share in the compensation amount. Now the Chief Minister of Assam has made a major change in this and has said that the compensation paid to the deceased government employees will be divided on the basis of 80:20. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma announced on Tuesday that henceforth, compensation for deceased government employees will be paid in the ratio of 80:20. Of this, 80 percent of the total amount will be given to the deceased's wife and the remaining 20 percent to the parents. “We don't want the family to be divided at this sad time,” he said. This decision will bring great relief to parents. Henceforth, Gratuity Grant will be given in the ratio of 80:20 to deceased government employees. 80% of the amount will be given to the spouse and 20% to the parents. We don't want families to be torn apart in times of grief. pic.twitter.com/J5Jht1VkUW — Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) August 13, 2024 The martyr's parents raised a demand for compensation to the martyr's wife and parents last month. On July 19 last year, Captain Anshuman Singh tried to save his fellow soldiers when they were airlifted to Chandigarh after a fire broke out in an army bunker in Siachen. But he died. He was later awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously. The President presented the honor to Captain Anshuman's wife Smriti and mother Manju. But Martyr Anshuman's parents demanded to change the NOK (Next To Kin) process in the Army. Father Ravi Pratap said that he mentioned this during a meeting with Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Rahul promised to speak to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the matter. 99 thousand people got jobs: Chief Minister Sharma said that more than 99 thousand government jobs have been provided in the state during his tenure and one lakh government jobs as promised before assembly elections. In the next 2 years this too will be achieved within a month. He said our government, which will take office in May 2021, will make 50,000 more government appointments next year as a 'bonus'. After attending the appointment letter distribution ceremony for 1,127 posts in Guwahati, Chief Minister Sharma said that more than 99,000 recruitments have been made so far during his tenure. Then he said, “When we came to power, we promised to provide one lakh government jobs. Today we have crossed the milestone of issuing appointment letters to 99,097 people. I am now confident that we will cross one lakh this month or next month,” he said. He said that 50 thousand more jobs will be provided next year and this will be an added bonus against the demand of one lakh jobs. Chief Minister Sharma said that appointments are being made in a more transparent manner and transfers related to government employees are being made completely corruption-free.
