The scheme allows investments from Rs.1000 in multiples of 100, with no limit on maximum investment. The main objective of KVP is to double your investment, the minimum investment is Rs 1000 and there is no maximum limit. Any person or he can open joint KVP account with three persons if he wants. If the guardian wishes, he can open an account on behalf of the minor. Also, a minor above 10 years of age can open an account in his own name.
