Control of the Vishnupad temple has left Panda's hands and a decision on the review petition will be taken after the meeting.

Recently, the Supreme Court upheld the Patna High Court's judgment in the Gaya Vishnupad temple case and dismissed the Panda Samaj's petition. The Patna High Court declared it a religious trust of a public nature. The Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by the Panda community in the Supreme Court against this. However, Vishnupad Temple Management Committee Chairman Shambulal Vittal said that a review petition can be filed against the Supreme Court's decision. He also said that before this, a meeting will be held with all the Pandavar community and a consultation will be held. Whatever decision the community takes after deliberation, action will be taken accordingly. Vishnupad is an altar, not a temple, he said. The Panda Samaj's ownership over it has been going on for years. Apart from that, it is also a resource for this society. Disputes started in 1963 between the Board of Religious Trustees and the Vishnupad Temple Management Committee. In 1963, a dispute arose between the Religious Trustee Committee and the Vishnupad Temple Management Committee for the first time regarding the ownership of the Vishnupad Temple. Advocate Rajan Prasad, who is handling the case at the legal level on behalf of the Religious Charitable Board, said that the Religious Charitable Board was formed in 1950. According to the rules of the board, it is necessary to have direct link and strong link from the board to all the religious places functioning in the state. Vishnupad Temple Management Committee is also included in this objective. On the instructions of the Board, the Committee was merged with the Board of Religious Trustees in (about) 1958. The Committee issued several notices by the Board of Trustees for not depositing the income share on time as per the rules. Even after this, when the board warned through a notice that if the deposit was not made, it would take over the Vishnupad temple, the board filed suit number 38/1977 in the Civil Court regarding the ownership of the temple. He said a unilateral decision was taken in favor of Kayabalan in 1992. The Board of Religious Trusts filed Petition 43/1993 in the Local Court against this decision. In this case, on December 14, 2020, Additional District and Sessions Judge Vishnupad declared the temple as public property and ruled in favor of the Religious Trustee. Failing here, he went to the High Court. A temple management committee was constituted. Against this, the group filed a petition in the Supreme Court, which is yet to be decided. The group appealed to the High Court in 2001 against this judgment, which upheld the decision of the Gaya court and dismissed it in 2023. After this, the Panda Samaj filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court against this judgment of the High Court, and on August 6, 2024, the Supreme Court also dismissed the appeal of the Panda Samaj and upheld the civil and High Court judgments.
