Protest led by Jitendra Tiwari outside PTO office to save Singaran and Ajay rivers.

Jamudiya. On Friday, led by BJP leader Jitendra Tiwari, BJP workers and supporters protested in front of the BDO office in Bahadurpur to save the Singaran river, known as the lifeline of Jamudiya, and the Ajay river from exploitation. Meanwhile, Jitendra Tiwari, the former mayor of Asansol Corporation, said that since the people's movement has started to save Singaran river, he has requested the administrative authorities from the district to the block. A large number of policemen were deployed during the protest. He said that he laid siege to the office on Friday as he did not get a proper response from the Jamudiya constituency development office despite repeated requests. Mr. Tiwari said that some industrialists of Jamudiya are killing the river. Industrialists eat the river for their economic gains. The factory here employs outsiders rather than local people. The factory owners are only giving diseases to the people here so people have to go round the hospitals. Jamudia's industrialists are providing employment worth thousands of crores and are only giving diseases to the local people. If the situation does not improve even after this, BJP will do what it has to do within the limits of the law. But the natural balance of Jamudiya is not allowed to be disturbed in any way. Sri Tiwari said that if the administration does not take adequate efforts to save Singaran and Ajay rivers within 10 days, the environmentalists will visit the river again. If no decision is reached after that, the case will be taken up in the Green Tribunal of the High Court. On the 12th, the complete details of the illegal work going on in all the factories will be presented along with the facts. He said that this movement of BJP is for the benefit of Jamudiya people. Whether it is with the wrongdoers or with the common people, the Trinamool Congress party should clarify its stand. Now he has asked the BLO to look into the issue. Further action will be taken after receiving their report. He clearly said that no one has the right to encroach on the river and if they do so, strict legal action will be taken against them. Jamudiya Constituency Development Officer Arunlok Ghosh said that he does not have any concrete information about encroachment on government land or the river, and if anything comes to light, appropriate action will be taken. He said that no one has the legal right to encroach on the river, alter its course or enter its territory. Disclaimer: This is an automated news feed of Prabhat Khabar newspaper.
