Mayawati cornered the government over the Wakf Board Amendment Bill, said- the government should fulfill its national duty
Lucknow. The Wakf Board Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha today. Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced this bill in the Lok Sabha. Opposition MPs strongly opposed it. Now BSP supremo Mayawati has reacted. She said that in view of the doubts, apprehensions and objections raised on the Wakf (Amendment) Bill presented in Parliament today, it is appropriate to send this bill to the Standing Committee of the House for better consideration.

Mayawati wrote on Instagram that the Centre and UP government's forceful interference in the matters of mosques, madrasas, waqfs etc. and excessive interest in religious matters like temples and monasteries is against the Constitution and its principle of secularism. Is such narrow and selfish politics necessary? The government should fulfill its national duty?
He further wrote that, Congress and BJP etc. have done a lot of politics under the guise of temple-mosque, caste, religion and communal frenzy etc. and have also taken a lot of electoral advantage of it, but now is the time to prove true patriotism by focusing on the reservation ending in the country and poverty, unemployment, inflation, backwardness etc.
In view of the doubts, apprehensions and objections raised on the Wakf (Amendment) Bill presented in Parliament today, it is appropriate to send this bill to the Standing Committee of the House for better consideration. It would be better if the government does not hurry on such sensitive issues.
