Daughter Saima Wajid longs to hug Sheikh Hasina, gets emotional remembering her mother

New Delhi : Saima Wajid, daughter of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said on Thursday that she is deeply saddened by the loss of lives in her country, as well as not being able to see and hug her mother in such a difficult time. Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister on Monday due to anti-government protests by students in Bangladesh and took refuge in India after leaving the country.
Her daughter said in a post on the social media platform X that my heart is broken by the loss of lives in Bangladesh, a country I love. I cannot see my mother or hug her during this difficult time. I am deeply saddened by this.

Sheikh Hasina has been in power for 15 years

Let us tell you that the students of the country were protesting in the capital Dhaka since July against reservation in government jobs in Bangladesh. Gradually the movement took a widespread form. The movement became very fierce and violent in no time.
There were protests in the month of July as well
More than 200 people were killed in the protests in July. The movement took hold again in August. About 100 people were killed last Sunday. Last month itself, Sheikh Hasina had deployed the army to deal with this movement, which is why the movement in July was not affected much. Police have confirmed that more than 20 people were killed in the protest on Monday.
