Bangladesh interim government formed under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus, swearing-in today

Dhaka: Bangladesh President Muhammad Shahabuddin on Tuesday night appointed Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as the head of the interim government. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman said that the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus will take charge on Thursday. He will take oath today.
Army Chief General Zaman said that the people involved in the government will take oath on Thursday at 8 pm. The advisory council of the interim government will have 15 members. As reported, its head will be Mohammad Yunus.

Why the name of Muhammad Yunus was proposed
President Shahabuddin made this appointment after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country. Mohammad Yunus is an economist. He is 84 years old. The proposal to appoint him as the head of the interim government was put forward by the protesting student leaders. The protests in Bangladesh soon turned into rebellion and violence. More than 100 people lost their lives in this.
What did Mohammad Yunus Khan say
Mohammad Yunus spoke to the media at Paris airport before leaving for Bangladesh. He said that as the head of the government, his priority would be to restore normalcy in the country. He will continue his efforts from day one to ensure that all the victims in the country get justice.
Yunus' sentence was cancelled
Amid the name of Mohammad Yunus coming forward, Bangladesh court has cancelled the six-month jail sentence given to him for violating labour law. According to news agency Reuters, he was given this punishment in a case registered during the tenure of Hasina government. Along with this, former Prime Minister of the country Khaleda Zia, who was under house arrest since 2018 after being convicted in several cases, was also released on Tuesday.
Khalida's party is also part of the interim government
After her release, Bangladesh Nationalist Party chief Khaleda Zia said that people have proved the impossible possible through their struggle. Now, there will be no action out of anger and revenge. Rather, the country will be rebuilt with love and peace. Khaleda's party will also be a part of the interim government.
