The court issued this notification after considering the election petition filed against the Samajwadi Party MP. Chotalal Karwar has been accused of making several false statements in his affidavit. Chotalal Karwar is a Samajwadi Party MP from Robertganj constituency in Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh. Apna Dal leader Ringi Singh has filed an election petition in the High Court against him, following which the court has issued a notice against the SP MP. Ringi Singh was Chotalal Karwar's closest rival from the Robertsganj constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Demand to annul Karwar election by Chotalal: Apna Dal (S) leader Ringi Singh Kaul filed an election petition in the Allahabad High Court alleging that Karwar was contesting by concealing facts. It is stated in the election petition that Chotalal Karwar has given false information about his caste certificate, property, income and educational qualification in his affidavit. Besides, the Samajwadi MP has also concealed the number of dependents from his first wife in his election affidavit. At the same time, the court hearing this election petition issued a notice against Samajwadi MP Chotalal Karwar. Chotalal quit BJP and became MP from SP in 2024. Current SP MP Chotalal Karwar broke ties with BJP ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections and joined Akhilesh Yadav's party. Chotalal became a BJP MP from Robertsganj constituency in 2014. In the 2024 elections, he contested on behalf of the Samajwadi Party under the Bharat Alliance and won by a margin of 1,29,234 votes. At the same time, the Apna Dal (S) candidate Ringi Singh Kaul, who is part of the NDA alliance, stood second. Ringi Singh Kohl is the daughter-in-law of Bagori Kohl who was MP in 2019. In the 2024 election, Ringi Singh Cole got 3,36,614 votes and Chotalal Karwar got 4,65,848 votes.
