The birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas, the author of the world famous religious epic ‘Ramcharitmanas’, will be celebrated this year on Sunday, 11 August. On this special day, along with the worship of Goswami Tulsidas ji, the author of ‘Ramcharitmanas’, Ram Darbar is also worshipped. Before starting the worship on this day, light a ghee lamp in front of the idol of the Lord. Then offer Prasad and after that, definitely offer Tulsi leaves. Then chant the Ramcharitmanas couplets and chaupai at least 108 times using a Tulsi rosary. Reading Ramcharitmanas on this day is considered extremely auspicious. Therefore, devotees must recite Ramcharitmanas.

There is an interesting story behind Tulsidas ji becoming a great devotee of Ram. According to this mythological story, Tulsidas ji loved his wife very much. Once Tulsidas ji’s wife went to her maternal home. On this, Tulsidas ji also followed her in the grief of separation from his wife. His wife became very angry on this and then his wife Ratnavali scolded Tulsidas and said “Are you not ashamed to have come here, O lord? This body made of bones and skin, you have so much love for it. If you had been good to Ram, then why would you have gone through this worldly fear?
In other words- ‘So much love for this body of flesh and bones. If you had loved Ram this much, this life would have been better.
This taunting of his wife awakened the inner conscience of Tulsidas ji and then he spent his entire life in devotion to Shri Ram. Due to this devotion, he composed the great religious epic ‘Ramcharitmanas’ which is famous all over the world.
