Hyundai Creta on a roll: Company sells 64,563 vehicles in July 2024

Hyundai Motor India today announced its overall sales figures for July 2024. The Korean automaker sold a total of 64,563 units last month, the total sales for July include domestic sales of 49,013 units and exports of 15,550 units. The demand in July 2024 is a bit low when compared to the same month last year as sales fell in both domestic and export markets.
However, the Hyundai Creta SUV has achieved the highest monthly domestic sales at 17,350 units in July 2024 and contributed largely to these sales numbers. Domestic sales decreased by 3.33% year-over-year to 49,013 units, marking a decline of 1,688 units from the 50,701 units sold in July 2023.

Exports also fell by 3.13% year-over-year to 15,500 units, down from 16,000 units in July 2023. Additionally, there was a month-over-month decline of 2.18% from the 50,103 units sold in June 2024. On a year-to-date basis, Hyundai sold 450,285 units from January to July 2024, representing a 4.30% increase compared to 431,731 units sold during the same period in 2023.

In CY 2024, SUVs comprised 66.6% of HMIL’s domestic sales, with the new Creta selling 1 lakh units by July 2024 since its launch in January 2024. The company also said that over 550 Creta’s were sold per day in the last six months and the company has also sold over 10 lakh units since its first launch in India in 2015
Commenting on HMIL sales, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “We have posted an overall sales growth of 4.31% Year-on-Year in the period of January to July 2024. SUVs continue to demonstrate a robust contribution, accounting for 66.6% of total HMIL domestic sales. The new Hyundai CRETA achieved key milestones of 1 Lakh unit sales till July 2024, while also achieving highest ever monthly domestic sales of 17,350 units in July 2024.”
