Sawan Kanwar Yatra: What is the specialty of Dak Kanwar Yatra? Know the rules before the beginning of Sawan
As soon as Sawan begins, Shiva devotees take out the Kavad Yatra. In Hinduism, this journey is considered to be very sacred and auspicious in life. Every devotee of Lord Bholenath wants to be a part of this journey at least once in his life. In the year 2024, the Dak Kanwad Yatra is going to start from 22 July. There are a total of 4 types of Kanwad Yatra, in which Dandi and Dak Kavad Yatra are considered very difficult.
Importance of Dak Kavad Yatra
It is not possible for everyone to do the Dak Kavad Yatra. Because there are many rules associated with it which are very difficult. It is said in the scriptures that once the devotees going on the Dak Kavad pick up the Kavad, then they keep it only after reaching Shiv Dham. It means that the devotees of Shiva have to keep walking continuously with the Kavad. There is a right time to decide on this journey. At the same time, the devotees have to reach Shiv Dham within 24 hours. That is why this journey is said to be more difficult than other Kanwad Yatras.
Most devotees form a group of devotees to complete this journey. In which the help of a vehicle is also taken. One Kanwaria runs on foot carrying the Kanwar and the rest of the companions are in the vehicle, when one gets tired then the other Kanwaria starts running with the Kanwar on his shoulder.
