Patna News: Family members create ruckus over youth's death in hospital, traffic disrupted for hours
Patna News: A cancer patient died at Mahaveer Cancer Institute, Patna. After that, his family blocked Patna Bulwari Sharif National Highway 139 in front of the institute and formed a rally. The road was affected by traffic congestion and blockade for about an hour. The patient's family members accused the company of negligence in treatment. Heavy and light vehicles were waiting in long queues on the road from Anisabad to Astro due to road congestion. The school vehicles were stuck in a jam due to road blockade for more than an hour. Apart from this, many ambulances were also stuck in the jam. People coming and going to the office in the morning were also stranded at various places for more than an hour. The police reached the spot, calmed down the people and managed the traffic jam somehow. A heated argument broke out between the local police station and the public while trying to end the road jam. The police were explaining to the people that whatever problem you have come inside the institute and we will sort it out. Whatever problem you have, it will be solved. Whatever your demand we will try to fulfill it and then people will calm down. The deceased's wife, Naina Devi, whose husband was in her 50s, was admitted to Patna's Mahavir Cancer Institute on Monday for treatment, the family alleged. The daughter of the deceased, who was near the road traffic jam area, said Bhiya Bhojpur's doctor told her father to go to the Mahavir Cancer Institute and get checked for cancer. All the medicines have been asked to be brought to the institute, but as the patient has died, the institute has been asked to pay the bill for giving the patient's body. He said the company's bill would be waived to the patient's family and arrangements would be made to take the body to their home. Apart from this, other initiatives are also supported. He said that Mahaveer Cancer Institute provides all kinds of support to patients and the allegation of negligence in treatment here is completely false. Most of the patients who come here are in the last stage of cancer.
