Unemployment: During Question Time in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Mansukh Mandavia reassured citizens worried about possible job losses by highlighting the drastic reduction in the unemployment rate. He credited this progress to several employment schemes launched by the government. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mandavia said the government is working hard to create employment opportunities and develop the economy. Manchuk Mandaviya said the unemployment rate fell to 3.2%. This is much lower than the 6% rate seen in 2017-18. He said that now more people are getting employment and the labor force has increased from 38% to 44%. The proportion of working people compared to the total population has also increased from 31% to 40%. They believe the unemployment rate will continue to fall and may soon go below 3%. The unemployment rate has been reduced to 3.2% in 2022-23. According to reports, youth unemployment has come down from 17.8% in 2017-18 to 10% in 2022-23. Employment opportunities are also estimated to increase in urban and rural areas. The survey also said that the country will need about 80 lakh new jobs every year till 2036. The report also offers a warning regarding AI technology. This is because AI may reduce job opportunities in the future.
