NEET-UG final merit list has been released and now 17 have topped instead of 61
The final merit list of NEET-UG-2024 has been published. The new list now has 17 toppers, up from 61 earlier. These 17 people scored 100% (720 out of 720). Along with this, the rank has been changed from two to two and a half thousand. After the Supreme Court order, the revised results of the NEET-UG examination were released on Thursday. It was 164 for unreserved category. Now it has decreased by 2 points to 162. For OBC it was 163 and now it is 161. For SC and ST categories it has decreased from 129 to 127. When will the counseling start? After the release of the merit list, the counseling schedule will be released by the National Medical Council. Successful candidates will have to go through the counseling process to get admission in other medical courses including MBBS, BDS. Seats will be allocated according to the rank obtained in the examination. Counseling will be held in 4 rounds. Do you know what happened in NEET case? On June 14, the court asked the Center and the NDA to respond to a petition seeking a CBI probe into allegations of paper leaks and other irregularities. On June 18, the court had said that even 0.001 per cent negligence in examination should be dealt with. Education department informed that 813 of those who got mercy marks on June 23 re-sit the exam. On July 1, NTA announced the revised results. After this, the number of first rankers in the exam decreased from 67 to 61. The government had told the Supreme Court on July 5 that canceling the exam would jeopardize the future of lakhs of bona fide candidates. It would not be right to do so in the absence of evidence of a massive breach of privacy. On July 10, the government told the Supreme Court that there was no indication of large-scale irregularities. The group of local candidates also did not work. On July 18, the court directed the NTA to release the exam results center wise and city wise by 12 noon on July 20. While doing this, the identity of the candidates should not be disclosed. On July 22, the court asked IIT-Delhi to constitute a panel of experts. This group had to give the correct answer to a physics question asked in the exam. And he said you have to submit your report on 23rd July. The court came up for hearing on July 23.
