The Haryana government had challenged the Punjab and Haryana High Court's decision to open the Shambhu border in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will not open the Shambhu border while hearing this petition. It has been ordered that the situation there will remain as it is.

The court said that there is a lack of mutual trust between the farmers and the government. The court has also proposed to form an independent committee to overcome this lack and settle the demands of the farmers. The committee will include eminent persons. The court said that they should also hold discussions with the farmer protesters.

The three-judge bench headed by Justice Suryakant (SC farmer protesters ordered) said that some impartial representatives are needed. Who can establish trust between the farmers and the government. The bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan said that you will have to take some steps to reach the farmers. Otherwise, how will they come to Delhi. Till then all parties should maintain the status quo to prevent the situation from escalating at the Shambhu border. Meanwhile, farmers have been camping at the Shambhu border since February 13. A few days ago, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had ordered the opening of the Shambhu border. But these orders were challenged by the Haryana government in the Supreme Court.
