What are those 5 grounds that kept NEET from being cancelled?
The Supreme Court has dismissed the pleas seeking to cancel the controversial NEET-UG 2024 examination and conduct a re-examination. Chief Justice T.Y. Chandrachud, Justice J. B. A bench comprising Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra said that the NEET exam will not be re-conducted. Let us know what are the main reasons keeping in mind the judgment of the court. Future of Lakhs of Students: The court has kept in mind the future of more than 20 lakh students in its judgment. The Chief Justice said that tainted students can be separated from untainted students. If the inquiry reveals that the number of beneficiaries has increased due to the paper leak, action will be taken against such students even after counselling. Issuance of new exam instructions may have dire consequences which will affect more than 24 lakh students appearing for this exam. IIT Delhi Report If marks are given for two answers to a question in NEET exam, IIT Delhi says, 'Atoms are electrostatically neutral because they have equal positive and negative charges' . The second option is that 'atoms of each element are stable and emit their own characteristic spectrum'. NDA had decided to award full 4 marks to those who correctly chose one of the two options. Around 9 lakh people had opted for the first option. More than 4 lakhs had opted for the second option. CBI report: The court heard arguments from all sides and the CBI report shows that the investigation is ongoing. The CBI has pointed out that 155 students selected from examination centers in Hazaribagh and Patna have benefited from the scam. The CBI probe is not yet at its final stage, so the court in its earlier order had asked the Center whether it could draw some trends regarding abnormalities from the results of 4750 centers in 571 cities. IIT Madras report: In NEET case, IIT Madras report says there was no major PayPal leak in NEET UG exam. At the request of the Ministry of Education, IIT Madras prepared a data analysis report. In this, a survey was conducted on 1.4 lakh students who appeared in the examination. Records before the court: The Supreme Court said that there is no evidence on record to suggest that the result of the examination was tampered with or that there was a deliberate violation of the sanctity of the examination.
